Title: A World Less Cruel
Author: Aunt Gytha
Rating: NC-17
Word Count: 5416
Warnings: None
Summary: Years after the war against Voldemort is over, two strangers meet in a Paris gay club, reminding each other of long lost dreams.

An emotionally driven story, with beautiful, scenic writing. The melancholy in the story was nearly enough to cause tears. Set post-war, post-HBP Harry and Severus met in a night club, but don't recognize each other. Frankly, I can't explain why I like this story, it simply touches me and I had to recommend it. As always, if you read, please leave the author feedback, it will be appreciated.

Excerpt:

In a world less cruel, they might have become friends. Had there been no Dark Lord, Severus might have been a kindly mentor to Harry, someone he liked and trusted, rather than feared and loathed. In a world less cruel, the boy might have seen the love he inspired in the man who watched over him. Might have seen that love change form as he grew to manhood. Might have returned that love in kind.

Might have given Severus a reason to stay and bring forth the evidence Albus left in his keeping, and fight for his own acquittal, with his beloved speaking out in his defence.

But Severus dared not be other than a realist. Harry Potter, hero of the wizarding world, had never smiled for Severus and never would. The dreams and fantasies Severus cherished were only fantasies and nothing more. An evening’s lust with a kindly stranger was the most he could ever have in the real world.

Title: Of all the seasons, winter befriends me
Author: [info]xremusxgalx
Word Count: 2063
Warnings: Angst
Rating: NC-17
Summary: Harry, in a moment of need, calls on Severus for help

Written in first person, this piece is poignant and sad. But leaves you with the possibility of hope at the end. Set post-war it shows how Severus has tried to deal with the results of his and other's choices. A touching story I recommend you read for the lovely, sad imagery. Please leave the author a comment if you read.

Excerpt: They say that time is a healer, the greatest healer of all. I am still waiting to see the truth of this, I have carried my wounds since I was a child and many of them have never closed.
****

Taking only my personal effects with me I had left my old life and moved to a lonely island where I could be alone, where I could be at rest with my tortured soul. For a time I was free.

Title: Attention Seeker

Rating: NC-17
Word Count: 7026
Warnings: Bloodplay, AU, Dark Harry
Summary: Harry's got a new hobby, but will he be strong enough to see to make it succeed.

Well written and surprising. Enjoyable read that leaves you wondering until the end, “What is Harry thinking?”

Excerpt:
“Who could have prophesized they great Harry Potter would wish for a master?” Harry remained silent his gaze never leaving the challenging stare of Voldemort. Both wizards knew a fight was pointless just as six years of war had been with no clear winner. The agreement was on the table all that was required was Voldemort’s satisfaction of its validity and truth. “You would bow to him, a man who by nature is incapable of submission, who is insignificant?” Harry bit his tongue determined not to crack under the pressure especially when he was so close to achieving something for himself after years of self-sacrifice for others. “Yet you will never bow to me?” Harry’s answer was clear when he continued to stare silently at Voldemort unmoved.

Title: Hope Falls In Silence (The Eyes Averted Remix)
This story is a remix of [info]the_con_cept's story Hope Raises No Dust
Author: [info]dracofiend
Rating: R
Word Count:
About 2600
Genre: Angst/Romance
Warnings: none
Summary:
Post-HBP. Severus returns to Grimmauld Place for shelter, or death--not Potter.

Hope Falls In Silence
has a quiet tone and a poetic and dreamlike quality to the writing -- but at the same time it's gorgeously dark and rich. It picks its way carefully through a minefield of events and emotions, bridging the distance between Snape and Harry with subtlety and carefulness. It's a thoughtful, rewarding read.

Excerpt:
It was too dark to see the discoloring without bending low by the bed. Severus remained in the doorway. He'd do the job from here, because the wooden floor would groan. Because he'd memorized the bruise. Because he wouldn't bend over this child in bed, this child who slept without defiance but curled up small, leaving space for a seat if Severus wanted it. Leaving space for more, if Severus wanted it.

Warnings: hmmm, first time, good clean bath smut…
Summary: Prompt #16. magalud: Snape/Harry, Prefects' Bath, Costume, first time.

A very enjoyable PWP set post-war. The sex is hot, and highly enjoyable. But it also shows the consequences of the war on both Harry and Severus. Snape’s characterization is wonderful, and Harry’s is spot-on. If you’re looking for a sweet, quick read go for this one.

Excerpt:

The Potions master’s heart missed a beat and then resumed, pounding hard enough to make his blood thunder in his ears. Could it be possible? The Boy Who Lived whispered his name in the throes of self-pleasure. The dormant noble Gryffindor in Severus was shoved forcibly aside as the Slytherin grinned wolfishly. He allowed the invisibility cloak to fall silently to the floor and began to unbutton his robes, his eyes feasting on the sight in front of him. The swish of cloth caused by his movements alerted ears trained for war, and Harry’s eyes flew open.
